Cameroon won the 2017 AFCON in Gabon

The senior national football team of Cameroon, the Indomitable Lions have maintained their position in the final FIFA world rankings of the year at both the continental and global scene.

The Africa Champions are 7th in the continent and 55th in World.
The lions appeared 7th during FIFA’s November ranking and 55th in the world with 1394 points which haven’t changed since the last rankings.

Cameroon’s position hasn’t improved owing to the fact that there has been little movement on this December rankings due to very few international games played.

The Teranger lions of Senegal on their part ended the year 2018 as the best team in Africa with a total of 1505 points.

Senegal who made their first appearance at a world cup in 2002 restored Africa’s pride at the 2018 FIFA world Cup in Russia after defeats recorded by the other Africa representatives.

Senegal ended Africa’s run of defeat in the World Cup with a win over Poland

Senegal is arguably the best side now in Africa with some of its players in top flight clubs in Europe.

Cameroon had ousted Senegal during the 2017 AFCON in Gabon during post match penalty shoot-out to clinch her fifth continental trophy.
