A Douala-based business magnet and media mogul has thrown his weight behind the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication (JMC). The entrepreneur, Bony Dashaco besides other things, promised to upgrade the departmental radio- Chariot FM to a befitting level. The management guru speaking at the silver jubilee of JMC and in extension, the University of Buea, said he wants to see the students become creators, in this way they can be able to measure up in the contemporary job market.
The advertising strategist who holds a series of masters degrees declared that things would be different during Dr. Kingsley Ngange’s stewardship as HOD. He said from henceforth Chariot Radio would enable students acquire state of the art skills that would prepare them for the job market and the corporate world.
He announced that the Bony Dashaco Foundation would award cash price of 500,000 francs each to the best three students at the undergraduate level and one million francs cash to the best student graduating student in the Masters in Corporate Communications.
He called on the present undergraduates to put more effort since he was opening his doors to five students from here to carry out paid internship in his Douala establishment.
